Terms of service
A few clear terms for the stories we keep.
1. Purpose and scope
These terms govern use of the befoly app and related support services provided by the befoly team. Contact us at codyssey100@gmail.com.
2. The service
befoly lets you record personal writing and photos, view and customize them as a book, and create supported outputs such as videos. It provides on-device storage and journal backup export and restoration. Personal iCloud Drive or Google Drive backup is optional on supported devices and accounts. Live cross-device sync, merging, and physical book orders aren't provided. Feature availability is described in the app.
3. Free features and Premium
Basic journaling, editing, recovery, backups, book reading, basic customization and 10-second films are free. Personal cloud backup requires storage in your cloud account and a network connection; we do not automatically subscribe you to paid external plans. Additional book designs, 30-second films and PDF export require Premium, a one-time purchase with no automatic renewal. The store payment sheet shows the final local price and purchase conditions before you buy.
Purchases are processed by the applicable app store. Cancellations and refunds follow applicable law and the purchasing store’s policies. Purchases can be restored with the same store account; purchases do not transfer between different stores. Restoration restores Premium access, not journal entries or photos. These terms alone do not establish a purchase.
4. Your content and rights
Rights to writing and photos belong to you or their rightful owners. You must have the right to use content you select, upload, or share, and must respect others' privacy and copyright. We won't use your records in advertising or public promotion without permission.
5. Storage and sharing
Local records may be lost through device loss, app deletion, cleared data, or operating-system issues. We can't remotely recover originals we don't hold. Videos and PDFs aren't backups for restoring original records. Check that backups have completed. Restoration replaces the current book with your chosen backup, after saving a safety copy on the device. Backups currently support up to 100 MB of photos in total. Before sharing, check the content, recipients, and visibility you choose in the iOS share sheet.
6. Using befoly responsibly
befoly is a personal journaling tool, not a medical device or a service for diagnosis, treatment, or medical advice. Due dates, pregnancy-week displays, and records must not be used for medical decisions or emergency responses. Illegal use, infringement of others' rights, and interference with service security or normal operation aren't permitted.
7. Changes, interruptions, and responsibility
We may change features to improve the service or meet operational needs. Where possible, we'll give advance notice of changes or closure that materially affect use. Liability for harm caused by our intentional conduct or negligence, and your statutory rights, follow applicable law. These terms don't exclude consumer rights guaranteed by law.
8. Privacy and disputes
Personal information is handled under our Privacy policy. Please contact support first about concerns or disputes. Dispute handling and jurisdiction follow the applicable laws of the Republic of Korea.
9. Updates to these terms
We'll announce changes and their effective date on the support site or in the app. Matters requiring separate consent, such as introducing paid services, will be explained through that process.
