Privacy policy
Your story deserves thoughtful care—and a clear explanation of how your information is handled.
1. Who we are and how to contact us
The befoly team handles personal information under this policy. For privacy questions or requests to access, correct, delete, restrict processing, or withdraw consent, email codyssey100@gmail.com. If identity verification is needed, we'll explain the minimum information required to handle your request.
2. Records stored on your device
Names, baby's nickname, due date, writing, selected photos, moods, movement records, and book designs are stored on your device to provide app features. They aren't currently uploaded to our servers or a Firebase database. Our team can't view or remotely recover these originals. Files you export or share are subject to the policies of your chosen storage or sharing service. Operating-system backups follow the policies and settings of that operating system.
If you choose personal cloud backup
When you enable backup, a file containing writing, photos, baby's nickname, due date, moods, movement records, book designs, drafts, and recently deleted entries is sent to your personal iCloud Drive on iOS or Google Drive app-specific storage on Android. Google connection uses account identification and access to the app-specific backup area. Your account email is stored on the device to manage the connection. Access to general Drive files isn't requested. Originals and authentication tokens aren't sent to usage analytics.
Backup runs while you use the app, only if you enable it. The three latest backups made by this device are retained; older copies are cleaned up after a new upload completes. Turning backup off stops new automatic transfers but doesn't automatically delete existing cloud copies. Account, storage, protection, and deletion are governed by Apple or Google policies and service settings. Exported backup files aren't password-protected; keep them somewhere only you can access.
3. Optional usage analytics
With your consent, Google Analytics for Firebase collects an app instance identifier, app launches, screen and feature usage events, event times, and technical information such as device, OS, and app versions to understand usage and improve the service. Google may process connection information and derive an approximate region from your IP address. We don't request precise location permission. With analytics enabled, the SDK may also measure in-app purchase events, including the product ID and price, associated with the app instance identifier.
Journal entries, photos, names, baby's nickname, email addresses, due dates, moods, movement records, and free-form input aren't sent as analytics events or user properties. We don't set a signed-in user ID; advertising identifier collection and ad personalization are disabled. Analytics is off by default and starts only after optional consent. You can turn it off at any time in My space → Usage analytics. Declining doesn't affect basic features.
4. External services and overseas processing
If you consent to analytics, analytics data is transferred when connected to the internet to Google LLC's facilities in the US and other global locations for processing on our behalf. The purpose is app usage analysis. Event-level retention is set to two months; aggregate reports may be retained separately. Turning collection off stops future analytics transfers and resets the device's analytics identifier. Contact the team about data already sent.
Processor and recipient: Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Services: Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Hosting, and Gmail. You may decline analytics or turn it off in settings. If you don't want to use email support, you may choose not to email us. See Google's and Firebase's privacy information for contact and processing details.
5. Support requests and this website
When you email us, we process your sender address, displayed name, message, and attachments to respond. Please don't include sensitive information that isn't needed. Support email is processed through Gmail. Unnecessary personal information is deleted after the issue is resolved, unless the law requires separate retention for a specified period.
The support website uses Firebase Hosting. Technical information such as IP address, access time, and browser may be processed by Google infrastructure to deliver content and maintain security. This website has no additional visitor analytics script, advertising, sign-up, or contact form.
6. Retention, deletion, and safeguards
On-device records remain while you keep them. Recently deleted entries remain until you restore or permanently delete them. Copies made before storage migration and safety copies made before restoration are kept on the device to protect your data; deleted entries may remain in older backups or safety copies. Clearing app data removes local records and settings. Exported files must be managed separately where you saved them. Analytics uses the Firebase SDK's encrypted transport and is limited to allowed feature events. Support requests are accessed only as needed for our work.
7. Your rights
You may ask for an explanation of processing, access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, or withdrawal of consent. We can't directly handle on-device records we don't hold, but can explain the options available on your device. The service isn't intended for children under 14. If we learn that their personal information has reached our team, we will take appropriate action.
8. Changes to this policy
If our processing practices change, we'll post the effective date and changes on this page. New collection beyond your existing consent will require separate consent.
